Walking through town
Electra let out a loud whoop as she rode down the hard dirt roads of town. "Yee haw!!" All the cats that saw her coming hastily got out of the way and coughed in the dust clouds she raised. She pulled back on the reins, crying "Whoa!" when she reached one of the saloons. She tied her horse to the post and patted its neck as it drank from the watering trough. Looking up, she saw Victoria and waved. "Hey, Vic!" The prissy white queen looked up and saw her friend Electra. "G' Mornen Lectra!" Vicki said with a smile, walking towards her not so prissy friend. Electra grinned happily. "Fancy meetin' you here. Headin' off anywheres special-like?" She leaned against her horse's side and tipped the wide-brimmed hat that her father had given her to get a better look at her friend. Vicki lifted her dress a bit so she wouldn't get the bottom dirty as she stepped off the boardwalk to talk to Electra better. "Nope, I have nothing special planned today." Vicki smiled. "How about you?" Electra patted her horse's side, thinking of the ride she just finished and grinned. "Nothin' in particular. I'm s'posed to pick up a few provisions for my pa at the general store, but I wanted to go to the saloon first." She gave Victoria a speculative glance. "You interested?" Victoria smiled "Sounds delightful!" Electra smiled and gave one last pat to her horse's nose before leaving. "Let's mosey on down there." ***** >^..^< *****
Macavity entered the saloon, his Western hat pulled down far over his golden eyes. He surveyed the tables until he found the one he wanted. He slowly sauntered over and came up behind Demeter. "Evening, Miss Demeter," he said, placing a hand on her shoulder. Dem jumped with a start. "Macavity..." she paused and looked around the saloon for any assistance but found none. "What do you want?" she said in her dress that draped around and reached the floor. Her fan was in her paw which she held up to her face so only her eyes were showing. "Oh, nothing, Miss Demeter. Only the pleasure of your company." Macavity sat down next to her and smiled, his fangs glinting in the dim saloon lighting. He took the fan and slowly pulled it away from her face. Dem let go of the fan. "Well.. if its my company you ask for, you may find that it will not be a pleasant one," she said sitting down at the far chair on the opposite side of the table. "I have a show in a few minutes. I just want to finish my milk and be on my way," she said drinking her milk. She looked over at the piano player who motioned for her to start the show. "I must go now, good day sir." She got up and started for the stage. She looked at Macavity and then at the rest of the cats in the saloon. "This is going out to all the cats queens and toms in love." She began to sing a beautiful song, as she walked around the tables and did the classic sit on top of the piano bit. Macavity held the fan, determined to approach Dem again after the show. He gazed at her through narrow, slitted, golden eyes. Dem finished the love song and stayed on top of the piano. She sang three more songs and then got off the stage after her bows. Macavity trailed her and caught her arm to turn her towards him. "You forgot this," he said, holding out her fan. Dem gasped as she felt a strong grip. "Oh...thank you," she said politely as she tried to get away. She took the fan and unfolded it, then put it up to her face. Macavity pulled it away again. "Don't do that, Miss Demeter. I want to see your pretty face." He moved closer to her, his paw tight around her arm. Dem tried to back away. "Sir, if you do not remove you arm at once... I'll... I'll." She hit him over his head with the fan as a warning shot. Macavity grabbed the fan out of her hands. "Oh, Miss Demeter, that's not very nice." He gave her a harsh kiss before letting her go and backing away. Demeter let out a squeal of disgust as he kissed her. "Let go of me.!!" she yelled out loud in the saloon to draw attention to the situation. She wiped her lips off. Teazer heard Demeter let out a yell. "Jer, I think Demmi is in trouble!" Tea got off her chair and walked calmly up to Macavity and Demeter, she was a tough lady and not afraid of Macavity. "What would the problem be here??" Teazer put her hand to her hip where her gun was... Dem smiled. " hello Teazer," she said. She took a step back behind her. "This outlaw tried to take advantage of me." she hissed at Macavity. Teazer glared at Macavity "Well, I wouldn't be wanten to be hearing about THIS sorta thing. I suggest you be staying a distance away from my friend Demeter, ya hear??" Dem grabbed her fan back and put it to her face again. Her fan matched her black head piece and red dress with black net covering and sparkles. "I don't reckon I'll be wanting to see you around here again," she said from behind Teaz. Teazer nodded. "You heard her, Out ya go!" she said with a mean gleam in her eyes. Macavity's paw touched his gun at his side, but he didn't take it out. "I'll go, but you haven't seen the last of me. When Sheriff Munkustrap gets here, you tell him I want to see him." He turned and walked out. I'll get that little louse, Demeter. She'll be mine yet! And I'll make Rumpleteazer and her mate pay for defying me! Dem watched Macavity go. Then she turned to Teazer. "Why I thank you Teazer. If you ever need anything in return just say so. I'll be happy to return the favor." She took her fan down and smiled. Teazer smiled. "Anything for a friend." She watched Macavity go out the door. "Wonder what HE is doing in this part of town," she said mainly to herself. Macavity headed out and down a nearby street. He faded into the shadows, but enough that he could watch the door of the saloon. Dem smiled and looked at the piano player and then at the bartender. "Well I guess I'm all through for today." she said. " Please excuse me Teazer... I must get my pay and buy previsions." She smiled and walked over to the bartender then out the door, she headed towards the general store. Macavity watched her exit, unsuspecting anything. A sneer curled back his lips, and he followed her, staying deep within the shadows. Mungojerrie returned to the saloon, unaware of what had just happened. "Are you ready to go?" he asked. Teazer nodded "Sure Jer, We gots to be careful of Macavity though." | |
